The numbers are now in, and eight of the top 10 airports around the world saw huge increases in passengers.

And if you were traveling to or through Atlanta, Dallas or Denver, passenger traffic was up nearly 12% last year. But the biggest surprise — international traffic increased a whopping 27%.

And the busiest airport — once again, Atlanta, with more than 104 million flyers.

Dallas weighed in with more than 81 million passengers.

And Canada saw a similar jump in numbers — Toronto’s Pearson airport had a 25% increase in travelers.

But what about this year? Will those numbers hold up?

This US national election year and worries about the economy are slowing things down.

And bookings for the last four months of this year indicate that prices and crowds may shrink.
