A tiny mini guide to Sotogrande

In the absence of a proper blog post, which will come, I promise, here is a mini guide to our favourite places around Sotogrande – but also Casares, Estepona, Tarifa, Marbella and Malaga.

Using Google Maps, I have added places we have visited repeatedly and know my readers will also love. There are plenty more places to include on a future guide to sotogrande (and even the Costa del Sol) – so bear with me.

Click on the little door that appears on the top left side of the map for more detail.

I

I have added our favourite places for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I created a category called Sunset Cocktails – it includes some restaurants in Sotogrande, for example, which are great for drinks but the food and service aren’t quite up to scratch. There are lots of places that everyone raves about… but we didn’t love them. So my list is short and sweet – but you know that we really have liked these places.

Under shopping, I have added a variety of local and international brands which may be of interest to check out if you come and visit the area.

An obvious category is missing: accommodation. We have a place here so we haven’t really tried the local hotels (except for Finca Cortesin, which is 20 minutes away). In Sotogrande, it is all about rentals – and done mostly with local agents. I will dig a bit deeper here over time as I think many readers will love to visit.

How to get here? The closest airport is Gibraltar Airport (only 25 mins away). Malaga and Seville are the other alternatives (as well as Jerez, more local).

A proper blog post with a mini guide to Sotogrande will come soon (one day!). In the meantime, checkout my Instagram South of Spain highlight.
